New Hair Style - Totally Shocked!

Few months back, Ken is asking if I need to do something with my hair. What he means that will I change to new style. I said, "What style can I have? My face will look fat and plump if I have short hair style."

Well, in my mind I been thinking about it - having a short hair style. Actually I am quite bored with my long hair style too. I been with my long hair style since I was small till this afternoon. :P Asked my Mummy opinions and in fact I likes her's short hair style. She did commented something.

Well, I finally made up my mind and have my hair cut to have a re-fresh! We went back to Slim River today and I said to Ken that I want my hair cut. He is quite surprise but agreed. He drove me to the shop.

We waited for a while before our turn. Then, the stylist asked me how I want it to be. I said I want short hair style. She looks at me with a puzzled look and said,
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I am!"

She then prepared the necessary and before she really cut, she said,
"I am going to cut now. No regret?"
"No!"

Then, she cut my hair - not totally cut to the lenght of my neck, tho. Just to the shoulder lenght. Maybe she afraid that I regret and still have recvering chance. Well, when she cut my hair, I really feel so uneasy and felt heartbroken. But as she goes along with the cutting, I feels better and better.
And tada..........this is my new hair style!

My new hair style! Short hair style after years of long hair style

Do I look nice with my new hair style? I hope so

Grandpa Kew's 80th Birthday

Today we are going back to Port Dickson, my father-in-law's hometown to celebrate Grandpa Kew's 80th birthday.

Ezel is following my parent-in-law while my sister-in-law is driving. Ken said he do not want to be home so early. So, we purposely sent Ezel to be with them as we need some privacy together. After eating our lunch, we said good bye and drive on. However, we still arrived early as no other relatives has reached before us.

After bathed Ezel, Ken and me left the house to Port Dickson town as we need to find the restaurant for the birthday dinner. Mummy earlier suggested a restaurant we used to frequent last time which Papa used to bring us. She forgetten the restaurant name but has told Ken the direction and we tried look for it.

Finally we found it. The restaurant name is Seaview Seafood Village. It was isolated on its own. On the right hand side of the restaurant are the housing areas. On the left hand side, we can see the Shell refinery office. As it was still early, the restaurant have not open. So, we headed home to prepare ourself for the birthday dinner.

At about 7PM, we with other relatives headed to the restaurant. Basically they know where the restaurant is. We arrived last while they already settled down with two (2) tables. Then, they ordered the seafoods.

Guess what we had. We had almost the most expensive seafoods I ever had before. The total bill is about RM2000 plus for two (2) tables. Luckily, we are not required to foot the bill. Ken's youngest uncle is the payer. Thanks to him.

Ezel is having each seafoods a bit. Earlier, I was very afraid that she will have allergies because I have allergies to seafoods when I was small. According to analyst, if one parents have allergies, the child will have at least 30% to 40% of have the same allergies. Thank God that she do not have any allergies to seafoods. But Ken and I keeps monitoring her just in case.

Ezel is very happy as she gets to play with Ken's cousins whose likes to hug and carry her. Just look at her smiling face!

After the dinner, we headed back to Kuala Lumpur.

Prison Break

Ken called me and tell me that Ezel come to look for him in the study room! He claims that he puts her in the playpen! He is very shocked and surprised to see Ezel when she comes to look for him in the study room. He wonders how she come out from the playpen. That gives me a wonder as well. Ken also mentioned that he did not heard any falling down sound.

Later, at about 10 minutes later, Ken called me again and he said that he knows how Ezel gets out from her playpen. He said that Ezel climbs and lifts herself up to the side handle of the playpen and using her body strength, she push herself out from the playpen. Her landing is using our bed mattress as we doubled two (2) mattress together which is high enough for her to land. Then, from the mattress, she will climb down to the spaces between the playpen and the bed and push her playpen away with her back (buttock). What a clever girl! But that scared Ken for a while as well as myself.

After I came back from work, Ken showed me how Ezel escape from her "prison" by putting her back to the playpen. In less than one (1) minutes, she is escaped (as per below video clips). She indeed a clever girl!

Ken said that Ezel gives him more headache now as she knows how to escape from her "prison".

Ezel is One Year Old!

Today is Ezel's first year birthday and I am so excited about it. I been waited for this day to come by. I am not sure why I am so excited about it but I just feels this way when I know Ezel's birthday is near day by day. Maybe it gives me a flash back to the day I born her. :P

When we wake up this morning, I greet her 'Happy Birthday' (which I bet she still do not know what I am talking about) and kissed her. Then, I gave her an ang pau to wish her in growing up healthy. At about 3PM, we went over to Mummy's house to celebrate her birthday.

I bought her cheese cake which I doubt if she likes it with message 'Happy Birthday Ezel Kew' on it. Ken said that bought cheese cake because I likes not because of Ezel's birthday. I argued that the prices for other normal cakes are almost the same. Since we predicted that Ezel might not want to eat that cake, why I just bought a cheese cake in case she really do not eat.

We sings her birthday song and while holding her hands to clap as she stares at the candle litted in the centre of the cake. We asked and teaches her to blow the candle but she do not know what we are talking about. In the end, I blown the candle out for her.

Then, we asked her to take the plastic knife to cut the cake but she refused. She is pulling her hand away when I try to put the plastic knife in her hand. I tried few times but still the same. Mummy said that maybe she knows is dangerous and she refused. Mummy said that some babies sensed things like this. Later on, she tried to touch the plastic knife but still dare not to hold it. Mummy tried after a while but she still refused to hold.

Ezel First Year Birthday

Ken then try to feed her with the cherry. She licked the surface and pull her long face as she do not like the taste of the preserved cherry. She also do not like the cheese cake as she do not eat much when Ken feed her. Maybe she is not used to the taste yet.

Celebration on Ezel First Year Birthday

As the traditional tells, there is a way to tell the baby's future or the the determination on his/her life. That is what the baby will picks between these three (3) things - instruments for writing, shu pun and dice. If the baby picks the instruments for writing, it means that he/she is clever, do well and study hard in studies which in older times, the baby will be a fulltime scholar. If the baby picks the shu pun, he/she will become a successfull businessman/woman or good in business. In older times, the parents expect their children will takes over the family business. However, if the baby picks the dice, it means that he/she is a gambler and likes to depend his/her life in gambling. This is not a good sign.

I am very keen on this as I really wants to know what Ezel would pick. If she really picks the instruments for writing, I need to save up now so that I able to provide her with the education she needs. Of course I do not want her to pick the dice and I am praying hard that she would not. Since we are in the modern time and not much resources, Mummy and I have replace the instruments for writing with a pen, the shu pun with a calculator and the dice with a playing cards.

I am so excited when we put these three (3) things on the floor. Then, Ken let Ezel down on the floor in front of these three (3) things. Guess what she picks as the first choice? It is a PEN!!! I was so relief and Mummy teased me that I can let go the mystery that been haunting me all this time. :O

Then, she picked the calculator as her second choice. This means that she will good in studies and later on when she works, she will be successful businesswoman or in her career. I hope she is and that are not these are what all the mothers in the world is hoping what her children will be, right?

Ken Lunar Birthday Celebration @ Shogun

Mummy said that according to Chinese tradition, the parents-in-law should celebrate their daughter/son-in-law birthday during the first year of the marriage. Since Ken birthday is around the corner, Mummy suggested that we go for Japanese food. So, we decided to have a buffet lunch at Shogun, 1 Utama.

After the lunch, we went for a walk in the Rainforest as it is nearby Shogun while helping the digestion. I shows Ezel the Koi fishes and she staring at them as there are so many of them. We did not stay long as ater Ezel is making temper as she needs her nap.

Nursery Kedgeree

Another recipe from Healthy Baby Meal Planner : How to give you baby the best of health and vitality by Sara Lewis.

This dish is for babies aged between seven to nine months.I still cooks for Ezel as I purposely buy the ingrediates - peas.

Ingrediates - makes 600ml/1 pint
50g/2oz long grain rice
25g/1oz frozen peas
350ml/12fl oz formula milk
90g/3 1/4 oz brick frozen skinless cod
2 hard-boild egg yolks

Well, I minused the egg yolks as many people said it will cause allergic and it is not advisable to give baby under one year to have egg yolk.

I also replaced the frozen peas with canned processed peas. It is much easier to mash too as the peas has been processed - softer. However, I have to do a bit of thing - plucking the skin of the peas out. Instead using cod, I have used other fish - ma yau fish. Always be extra careful with the bones as you never knows where the fish bones will hide after you mashed it. Choose fish that have large bones so that it is easier to detect.

I followed the instructions in the book to cook and it turned out as shown in the book except the colour. Maybe it is because I did not include the egg yolks. Thus, it is more to greenish colour of the peas.

As I cooked this dish quite late at night, Ezel was asleep and unable to taste it. Hope she likes this dish!

Maintenance Sales Thank You Dinner @ MardiGras

Our company had a private function / dinner for the Malaysia Maintenance Sales team including engineers as an appreciation on the good job done in quarter three (3) of 2007.

The function is suppose to start at 6.30PM but we arrived late as we need to settle some issues while also waiting for others. There is a door gift given - mini torch light. At about 7.30PM, the management started to give some speech of appreciation and new target for the quarter four (4). At about 8.00PM, we are lining up to take the foods.

Ken has arrived and parked the car in 1 Utama. I asked him to bring Ezel down to the place as the function events are not over yet. But Ken rushed me home. I told him I need to get something inside there as I did not bring out. I carried Ezel with me and I introduce Ezel to the people I know.

Then, there was a presentation gifts and I walked up together with Ezel to take the gift. Everyone is praising Ezel on her cuteness.

I went back to Ken at abut 9.00PM and introduced him to my manager who is coincidentally passed by us.

Cauliflower and Broccoli with Cheese

Another recipe from Healthy Baby Meal Planner : How to give you baby the best of health and vitality by Sara Lewis.

This dish is for babies aged between nine to twelve months.

Ingrediates - makes 600ml/1 pint
175g/6oz broccoli
175g/6oz cauliflower
175g/6oz potato
300ml/half pint formula milk
75g/3oz Cheddar or mild cheese

I try out this dish because there are still leftover Edam cheese from the previous recipes - Tagliatelle/Macaroni and Cheese with Broccoli and Ham.

This recipe is very easy to prepare. I just dump in all the ingredients except the cheese into the pot and simmer until all of them are soft. Then, I mash it and add in the cheese. I stirred it until the cheese is well blended with the vegetables.

Ezel likes it as it is a new flavour to her.

Meeting with Kai Ma

I off from work early today as I made an appointment to meet Jedi, my best friend and also Ezel's Kai Ma for dinner. We agreed to meet up in 1 Utama Shopping Centre since my office is just next to it.

It took us some times to meet each other up as Jedi and her boyfriend is not familiar with 1 Utama area. Finally we meet up in front of Home Fix. Ezel as usual, is very happy whenever she sees other people other than me and Ken. I handled over Ezel to Jedi to carry.

Then, we went to Vietnam Kitchen after discussing where to have our dinner. During the dinner, we exchanged some news. Jedi keeps saying that Ezel is very active and likes to smile. Yes, she is and Ken always complaint that it is hard to take care of her.

We stayed about one and a half hours before knocking off as tomorrow is a working day. Jedi handle over some clothes and an ang pau for her Kai Lui's birthday.

Ezel's Wardrobe

Out of no way, suddenly I decided to have a collection of Ezel's wardrobe.

She is so tiny and small and some of her clothes that range from 0 to 3 months still fits her even when she is actually 8 months olds. But it is getting lesser now.

However, she still fits most of the clothing that range from 0 to 6 months even she is now almost 12 months! It is because of the designer's cutting or my Ezel is tiny and small?

As she is so cute and lovely and friendly, some of my friends bought her clothes too. Surprisingly, my mother's friends also bought her clothes! Not to mention Ezel own Po Po and Tai Tai Kung and her Kai Ma, Jedi. There are some clothes in her wardrobe that are given by my aunties, leftover from her daughter.

Nevertheless, here are the collection of her wardrobe and keeps coming back as her wardrobe might be change or added with more..........

En Meei and Jih Fah's Wedding Ceremony and Dinner

Today is En Meei and Jih Fah's wedding ceremony follow by dinner at the Chuai Heng Restaurant at Kuchai Lama.

Since it is held on Friday, a working day, I have to rush back to my house at 5.30PM sharp to get prepared. Ezel was well dressed by Ken and other things that need to bring along was well prepared. Ezel was dressed in the new dress that I purposely bought for her for this occassion. I quickily get bathed and dressed. Then, make-up a little and rushing out.

We arrived late about 7.15PM due to the traffic although the wedding invitation stated 7PM sharp while the wedding ceremony is an half an hour earlier, 6.30PM. Apparently, both the wedding ceremony and dinner have not started yet.

At about 7.45PM, the wedding ceremony begins with the priest giving a short speech. Then, En Meei was leaded by her father to the stage whereby Jih Fah is waiting. The priest then read out the speech that we usually heard in Christian wedding ceremony in Cantonese dialect. The priest then asked if Jih Fah is willing to take En Meei as his wife and he asnwered "I agree". Then follow by En Meei's turn.

Ezel was a bit scare when the crowd clapping their hands. Maybe she never see such a big event like this. She seems confused and stunned but did not cry but I assured her that it is OK. Maybe she is wondering why people started to clap together.

About 9.15PM, dinner was served and I gave Ezel to eat some of the foods. She likes them very much and I bet it is because of the artificial flavouring. She did not make any fuss along the dinner.

The wedding dinner is ended at 11PM.

Tagliatelle/Macaroni and Cheese with Broccoli and Ham

Another recipe from Healthy Baby Meal Planner : How to give you baby the best of health and vitality by Sara Lewis.

This dish is for babies aged between nine to twelve months.

Ingrediates - makes 600ml/1 pint

115g/4oz broccoli
50g/2oz thinly sliced ham

50g/2oz Cheddar or mild cheese
300ml/half pint formula milk

50g/2oz tagliatelle/macaroni

Well, some of the ingrediates are hard to find especially the cheese. I having a difficult time looking for Cheddar cheese as I am not familiar with the cheese varieties. I searched the Internet to look for it but not much information I can get. Finally, I got this Edam cheese as substitute.

Edam cheese

Actually, when I started to cook this dish, then only I realised that I do not have tagliatelle. Luckily, I have macaroni. So I used macaroni as substitute for tagliatelle. I followed the instructions in the book to cook and it turned out as shown in the book.

I gave Ezel to try but the sliced hams are still too big for her. She still get choked when she tries to sollow it. Nevertheless she likes this dish very much.

Ken said it might due to the favouring of the ham that makes it tasty and she likes the taste.

MSN Snoopy Cannot Be Use

Ever since I installed the back-dated MSN 7.5 version to cater to my beloved MSN Snoopy skin, I keeps getting MSN notice saying that I need to upgrade to the latest version - MSN 8.0. Somehow, I ignored the notice as I really like my MSN Snoopy skin so much!

However, today finally my MSN Snoopy comes to its end. MSN informed me that I need to upgrade to MSN 8.0 in order for me to use the MSN. Thus, I have no choice but to upgrade to MSN 8.0 leaving behind my MSN Snoopy. :(

Carrot, Lentil and Coriander Puree

Another recipe from Healthy Baby Meal Planner : How to give you baby the best of health and vitality by Sara Lewis.

This dish is for babies aged between six and six-and -a-half months. Somehow, I still plans to cook this dish for Ezel to try as I missed few recipes in this stage. Actually the red lentils was bought few weeks back but I do not have the time to try out this recipe.

Never too late, I try out today and here are the ingrediates :

Ingrediates - makes 600ml/1 pint
350g/12oz carrots
175g/6oz potato
50g/2oz red lentils
2.5ml/half teaspoon ground coriander
300ml/half pint formula milk

Well, I skipped one of the ingdrediates that is the ground coriander as I am not sure what it is or where can I find it. Nevertheless, I still able to cook out the dish as the instructions in the book.

However, the red lentils seems not soften even I simmer it about an hour. Finally, I gave up and scoop the dish into a plate and sieve (strain) the red lentils out from the mixture.

It is not turned out so smooth and the dish is not much leave after the sieve process. Somehow, Ezel seems to loves this dish very much!

Sorry, dear! It is too much of work and time consuming. Guess you are able to taste it once. :P

Snoopy Madness

Apart of the MSN Snoopy skin, I also downloaded the Snoopy folder icons!

Thus, I changed some of my desktop icons of usual and standard type to have Snoopy's 'look'. I changed 'My Documents', 'My Computer', My Network Places' and some of my folders icon.

It is my working place whereby I need to face it everyday. So, why not create or put something you like so that you can work happier?

My Desktop View

MSN Snoopy Madness

I was surfing the net yesterday when I found this MSN Snoopy skin. From the preview, it looks really cool and cute. So I downloaded it and tried to install.

Unfortunately, it only allows to be run only old version of MSN, version 7.5 which my current version is MSN 8.0. As I am really wanted the MSN Snoopy skin so badly, I purposely uninstall my MSN 8.0 and download MSN 7.5 and install it. Then, I install the MSN Snoopy skin. It really works!

I am so happy and it really looks cute and adorable. I never imagine that the MSN Snoopy skin is this cute. I love it to dead.

"Coconut Tree"

Today I tied Ezel hair up using a small shark clip since her hairs starts to block her eye sight. It ended up looks like a coconut tree according to Ken. He keeps teasing me and Ezel that the hair style looks like a coconut tree. He is laughing all the way looking at Ezel.

Ezel hairs are still little but grown long. So, the only hair style I can tie is grab all the hairs into the top centre of her head and secure it with a clip. I cannot do a ponytail for her as her hairs are not that long and much.

However, after tieing up her hair, she looks more girlish and cuter. Just look at her!

Funny face with the "coconut tree" hairstyle

Am I cute and looks more girlish?

Darling, just bare with it as for the moment till you hair grown long, OK? Mummy will style your hairs when they are longer.

Little Darling is on Flu.......... :(

My poor little darling is on flu. :(

She is having difficulity in breathing and she really having trouble. I really hope that I can suffer what she suffered now on behalf of her. My heart really ache seeing her like this.

By the way, I am on flu myself as Ezel has passed on the virus to me. :P Both of us went to the same doctor on the same time.

She really looks weak and no mood after taking the drowsy medicine and all she can do is sleep. But she do not sleep well as the blockage in her nose make her difficult in breathing.

Poor little darling..........
