Ezel is One Year Old!

Today is Ezel's first year birthday and I am so excited about it. I been waited for this day to come by. I am not sure why I am so excited about it but I just feels this way when I know Ezel's birthday is near day by day. Maybe it gives me a flash back to the day I born her. :P

When we wake up this morning, I greet her 'Happy Birthday' (which I bet she still do not know what I am talking about) and kissed her. Then, I gave her an ang pau to wish her in growing up healthy. At about 3PM, we went over to Mummy's house to celebrate her birthday.

I bought her cheese cake which I doubt if she likes it with message 'Happy Birthday Ezel Kew' on it. Ken said that bought cheese cake because I likes not because of Ezel's birthday. I argued that the prices for other normal cakes are almost the same. Since we predicted that Ezel might not want to eat that cake, why I just bought a cheese cake in case she really do not eat.

We sings her birthday song and while holding her hands to clap as she stares at the candle litted in the centre of the cake. We asked and teaches her to blow the candle but she do not know what we are talking about. In the end, I blown the candle out for her.

Then, we asked her to take the plastic knife to cut the cake but she refused. She is pulling her hand away when I try to put the plastic knife in her hand. I tried few times but still the same. Mummy said that maybe she knows is dangerous and she refused. Mummy said that some babies sensed things like this. Later on, she tried to touch the plastic knife but still dare not to hold it. Mummy tried after a while but she still refused to hold.

Ken then try to feed her with the cherry. She licked the surface and pull her long face as she do not like the taste of the preserved cherry. She also do not like the cheese cake as she do not eat much when Ken feed her. Maybe she is not used to the taste yet.

Celebration on Ezel First Year Birthday

As the traditional tells, there is a way to tell the baby's future or the the determination on his/her life. That is what the baby will picks between these three (3) things - instruments for writing, shu pun and dice. If the baby picks the instruments for writing, it means that he/she is clever, do well and study hard in studies which in older times, the baby will be a fulltime scholar. If the baby picks the shu pun, he/she will become a successfull businessman/woman or good in business. In older times, the parents expect their children will takes over the family business. However, if the baby picks the dice, it means that he/she is a gambler and likes to depend his/her life in gambling. This is not a good sign.

I am very keen on this as I really wants to know what Ezel would pick. If she really picks the instruments for writing, I need to save up now so that I able to provide her with the education she needs. Of course I do not want her to pick the dice and I am praying hard that she would not. Since we are in the modern time and not much resources, Mummy and I have replace the instruments for writing with a pen, the shu pun with a calculator and the dice with a playing cards.

I am so excited when we put these three (3) things on the floor. Then, Ken let Ezel down on the floor in front of these three (3) things. Guess what she picks as the first choice? It is a PEN!!! I was so relief and Mummy teased me that I can let go the mystery that been haunting me all this time. :O

Then, she picked the calculator as her second choice. This means that she will good in studies and later on when she works, she will be successful businesswoman or in her career. I hope she is and that are not these are what all the mothers in the world is hoping what her children will be, right?
