Twilight Saga New Moon : Chapter 3 - The End

Yesterday night or this morning (yeah.....it is past 12 midnight), I finished New Moon novel chapter three titled "The End". After I finished the chapter, I felt myself in Bella's situation - not able to think properly and not sure what is going on surround her. I feel like crying thinking that Edward is leaving her just like that!

I felt the pain she suffered when Edward inform her that he is leaving her like he never existed. That kind of painfulness like your heart being needled by thousand of needles and you feel nothing about your arms and legs. Again, I think Stephanie Meyer did a very good job in describing the situation and the feeling. Or it is because I am been in the position before which makes me have the same feeling? Or it is because I watched the trailer before which enable me to virtualize more? I am really not sure about that. All I know that I am really feeling the pain that Bella felt and almost cried out.

Then, I flip thru the next chapter like usual to read the first paragraph before closing the book and go to bed. Somehow, I only managed to flip thru four (4) pages of months written on each of the pages meaning four (4) months has passed since Edward leaving Bella behind. That is very insteresting way to potray the timeline and I never come across in other novels. This is very new and creative! Good job, Stephanie!

But I did not manage to read chapter four. I am too tried and I need sometime to digest the chapter three. The feeling will not gone just like flipping the four (4) pages away. It is still in my head.

Nevertheless, I will continue chapter four tonight.

Twilight Novel Concluded; Starting New Moon Novel

Yesterday night, or rather this morning as it is already past 12 midnight when I finished the last chapter of Twilight novel. I am so excited that I finally finished the novel after a week of chasing the chapters.

Well, if you ask me to review this novel, it is actually more detailed compare to the movie. Most of the questions that plays in my mind before when watching the movie are mostly answered in the novel. However, as I read, I realized that there are a numbers of differences between the novel and the movie but the actual storyline or plot is still there. It is just that how the storyline and plot is delivered in the movie of 2 hours which you cannot tell every single thing in the movie. The differences/changes, add-ins and omissions can be found at this link.

During the reading, I would smile to myself due to the conversations between Edward and Bella. It is like I am there with them. I will feel the sweetness of Edward's smiles or actions to Bella. Stephanie Meyer did a very good job in bring both of the characters alive like what I feel during reading. Thanks God that she keeps insisting the productions of the novel. Else, I would not be able to admire her work on these two (2) special characters. Maybe another reason make me feel so alive with the character is that I keep visualizing the movie version while reading as well as listening to the soundtrack.

There is a colleague of mine shared with me that I should read the novel first before I watch the movie so that I can understand better when watching the movie. Maybe he is right as I mentioned earlier, I realized that there are some differences between the movie and the novel and I have a number of questions in my mind after watching the movie which only found in the novel.

I think I will try that with the second novel of The Twilight Saga, New Moon. Hopefully I am able to finish the novel before the movie premiere. However, I already know more the less what New Moon is about as I watch the New Moon movie trailer as well as read the novel synopsis. Nevertheless, I will start to read the New Moon novel tonight.

New Moon novel, here I come!

All Women in A Lift

Coincidentally this morning, the lift I am taking down to the basement car park are all women only. Floor by floor the lift stop and the person who join in the crowd in the lift is all women!

Then, I been thinking, "Could it be a sign to something?". No answer or debate within my mind. But another question pop-up, "Of all these women, how many of them know about Breast Cancer Awareness Month? How deep is their knowledge to this issue?".

I think I know why my mind ask the above questions. I can observe that none of them wear anything pink (except my sister-in-law) not to mention the pink ribbon (except me, whereby I pinned to my backpack). I really wish that every woman in this world have a bit of knowledge on breast cancer and how the little thing that we do can prevent it.

Twilight Saga Novels Acquired!

As Ken knows my dissapointment, he accompanies me to Borders at The Curve when we went to Tesco to buy some groceries as usual to try my luck. The information staff did not call me if there is any copy found in other branches.

I asked the cashier again for the paperback collection knowing that it would be a dissapointment but still hope for it eagerly that it is available. He checked with the store again to confirm before returning to us to give us the dissapointment reply. I asked if Borders will replenish the paperback collection. He replied there are possibility as this novel is very popular. He knows the popularity of the novel - not bad and I am impressed with his answer.

He suggests the hardcover in his hand which cost RM358. I tell him that I will consider about it. Then, I discussed with Ken which he suggested me to take the loose copy. He joked that he would make the box for me. *sweet* Then, he calculated to me on the comparison on the hardcopy collection versus the loose copy understading me that I have intention to purchase the hardcopy collection. Finally, I gave up the hardcopy collection and go for the loose copy weighting between my budget and my urge to read the novels especially on the next happenning.

Of course the loose copy are cheaper compare to the box collection - RM166.80 (loose copy - four titles) versus RM188 (paperback box collection). Furthermore, I get 15% discount from Jusco/Aeon memebership card promotion. In the end, I saved RM25.04 from RM166.80 or total of RM46.24 if I was to purchase the paperback box collection at RM188. Not a bad deal after all! :P

The most important is that I finally acquired the Twilight Saga novels!

Dissapointment : Twilight Saga Paperback Box Collection SOLD OUT!

I taken half day leave as Ken and my father-in-law came down to sign some papers for the lorry purchase. I take half day leave so that I can follow them back to Slim River for tomorrow Mid-Autumn festival celebration.

Ken knows that I will be bored doing nothing back in hometown and he promised to buy Twilight Saga collection for me which I been nagging. So, he drops me at The Curve before headed back to hometown to purchase the collection.

I make a quick run to the Borders once I get out from the car while Ken and my father-in-law waited in the car beside the road. I straight to the First floor cashier counter to ask for the collection but there are all hardcover collections left! Somehow, he is kind enough to check for me if there is any stock at the store.

However, to my dissapointment, she told me that all the paperback collection has been sold out. I asked if there is any stock in other branches. She said there are possibility and suggested me to leave my number while she tried to check. I did as suggested as there is a only hope I got.

In dissapointment, I walks back to the car and ride back to hometown. :(

Breast Cancer Awareness Month, October

Today is the start of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

In my opinion, every women should knows about breast cancer at anytime, not just this month as early detection really saves life and make suffering lesser. Once you aware about breast cancer facts, you will feel better and appreciate more on the things and people around you.

What do I do to support this campaign? I do my own card and pink ribbon as suggested in Cleo October 2009 issue on page 201 under "Get Involved!" header! I get creative by doing my own pink oval card and attached a pink ribbon onto it. I have written "Think Pink" as initiated by Cleo's "Think Pink Project" at the bottom of the pink ribbon. At the reverse side on the card, I written "In Support to Breast Cancer Awareness Month October 2009" in pink before signing off with my name with another pink shaded of pen.

Self-made Breast Cancer Awareness Month card with message -Back

Today, I distributed almost 40 plus cards to various female colleagues in my floor and they are happy to receive it. I am happy to see their smiling face when received my handmade card but there is a slight sadness in my heart as some of them asked, "What is this?". It seems like they do not recognize what the pink ribbon represent! All I could do is ask them to flip over the card and read the message which in return gives me a doubt. If I did not input the message, do I really need to explain to them what pink ribbon represent or are they just simply really do not know what pink ribbon represent or it is the pink ribbon campaign initiated by Estee Lauder not that successful? I am wondering.

Anyhow, to those who wanted to do something to support this campaign, you can get some ideas from Cleo October 2009 issue on page 200 to 202. There is walk, run, talks, road shows and dance that you can participate in. Else, you may look under the "Get Involved!" header to do something else. I done point two, "Get Creative" and I strongly recommend point five, "Pink Out!" whereby they suggested to wear a pink item everyday!
